Not our best day, to say the least! While I was taking our daughter to her sports physical, Brian was working alone in the workshop. I received a call from him, but didn’t think much of it at the time. As we were finishing up, I got another call. This time, Brian greeted me with, "Hi, I'm at urgent care and I’m going to need some stitches."
In what can only be described as a freak accident, Brian was lying inside a cabinet in a small space when his drill dropped and wedged into his shoulder. Within seconds, the drill wrapped around his shirt, driving further into his shoulder. Thankfully, Brian didn’t panic. He managed to move enough to free himself, rip off his shirt, and drive to urgent care, where he received 7 stitches and a tetanus shot.
The doctor mentioned that his positioning was lucky; just a few inches in either direction could have resulted in a nicked artery or a torn muscle. All in all, we’re counting our blessings that it wasn’t worse!
